Groups are a mixed blessing for some hostels. While the income from groups is usually welcomed, groups can also dominate and overwhlem the atmosphere of the hostel (especially small hostels). For this reason some hostels will choose to limit the size of groups they allow. Enter the maximum group size for your hostel. This number will affect the number of people who can be checked in at one time and the number of guests that can make a reservation together on the hostel's booking page.
Even if you don't want to have a maximum group size rule at your hostel, you might want to limit the number of people who can be checked in at one time to limit the length of your check-in form that staff see. You can also use this second number as a way to generally control the sizes of groups that book publically, but allow flexibility on the internal side if there is a group bigger than your normal allowance that you really want to stay.
